Finishing
The finishing process is a common operation in the treatment and preparation of metal surfaces.
Sanding helps to remove impurities as well as surface defects such as scratches, burrs, and irregularities, thus improving the appearance and quality of the surface.
It also allows for precise surface finishing, with the desired level of gloss or roughness. Different grits can be used to adjust the finish, ranging from a very smooth surface to a slightly rough one, depending on specific needs. These various finishes can be achieved using finishing processes with abrasive belts, Scotch-Brite belts, and/or brushes.
Sanding improves the quality and aesthetics of the part by removing roughness and producing a more pleasant-to-the-touch surface, while also enhancing the functionality of the finished products. This is particularly important for visible or frequently handled parts.
